In the article linked above, Tim Elmore discusses the importance of professionalism and communication in an internship. A close friend to Elemore had a bad experience with interns. Therefore, he decided to give his friend some advice to ensure the intern understands how they should act, what they should do, and what qualities they should posses. The intern needs to know two things: the internship is equivalent to an interview and the internship is a simulation of the job they will have one day.
The advice given in the article is pertinent to my internship. Since I am going to study pharmacy in the future, every piece of information told to me will help me in future studies and career. Whether it is learning the generic names for the brand name medicine or learning how to deal with customers and other people such as doctors, the situations will prepare me for the future. By believing that everyday at an internship should be treated as an interview, I know how to act and respond to situations. I can ensure that I make good impressions by maintaining a high energy and having initiative to do work. Likewise, being responsible and willing to learn leaves my coworkers and boss with a good impression of me.
