Assignment 11: Mentorship Write Up/ Picture

At my high school, I participate in many activities and clubs including National Honors Society, drama tech, and mock trial. I am active in every club/activity. For example, twice weekly, I attend mock trial practice; likewise, I volunteer often for National Honors Society. Given that I actively volunteer, I am a part of the community, as well.

Last year, I was enrolled in AP chemistry, which sprouted the love I have for science. Through the class, I learned that my future is in science, which led me to discover my love of medicine and medicinal practice.

After a process involving multiple calls and interviews, I have, fortunately, secured an internship as a pharmacy tech at Goodson Drug. The environment is very relaxed, but professional; thus, I blended with everyone smoothly. In the pharmacy, there are eight pharmacists; however, at the very most, there are six pharmacists there at a time. I have established good relationships with the pharmacists and office managers. The head pharmacist's name is Jimmy, and he owns the establishment. Many people, who work there, are relatives; likewise, Jimmy's son works as a pharmacist.

My coworkers are mainly other pharmacy techs. I work closing shifts, however, there is an ample amount of time where I can see all of my coworkers; therefore, I have built a steady relationship with them, as well. As a pharmacy tech, I count pills, measure liquids, answer the phone, help customers, and do whatever the pharmacists need us to do.

I am a senior who is currently enrolled at Forsyth Central High School. When I graduate, I plan on attending the University of Georgia for my undergrad. After I finish my undergrad, I will proceed to pharmacy school, which will most likely, also, be at the University of Georgia.
