Assignment 13: Partner in Education

The environment of Goodson Drug and my coworkers create a feeling of being a partner in my education. Through constant learning and an abundance of support, an inviting atmosphere has accompanied me, which help the process of learning. Likewise, my coworkers, including the pharmacists, willingly help me in times of trouble and support the learning process that occurs.

What goals have you met so far? Have you changed any of your goals?

I excelled in all of the goals that I have set for myself. However, the goals that I have originally set are very surface level and included: learn at least five generic names for brand name medication, answer the phones, learn how to operate the registers, and gain some knowledge about basic medication. My goals have shifted to increasingly difficult tasks such as: get certified as a pharmacy tech, be able to operate the computer system effectively, know most of the generic medication for the brand medication, and learn how to handle pricing and insurance.

What have you done that has made your supervisor’s life easier?

By learning the differeing generic medication, I am no longer constantly asking what the generic name is to the brand medicine. Likewise, I have learned where every medication is located and can find them quickly. In addition, I no longer have a fear of answering the phone, which means that I can help customers on the phone that would otherwise occupy the pharmacist's time.
