Assignment 16: Written Proposal Draft

What is driving your research?

My drive to learn everything about biochemistry and pharmaceutical science pushes me to continue researching. Without a want to learn more about my possible future careers, I would not enjoy researching this. I find myself constantly wanting to learn more about medicines and their effects on the human body, including side effects that may be undesirable. Likewise, the many ways that similar medicines affect the human body draws my curiosity. I feel accomplished whenever I learn more about the differing medicines and their chemical structures.

What is your current essential question and has it changed from when you wrote it earlier in the school year?

My previously discussed essential question was, "How can the future of pharmaceutical sciences modify the future of medicine, and how can future practitioners, like myself, help reach the goal?" I continue to use this essential question because it stays true to the knowledge that I wish to gain from my research. All my research that I have conducted has pertained to this essential question. Therefore, it is likely that I will remain using this question, so I can incorporate all my current research to the essential question.

Other than the required website, what other tools do you envision to best showcase your project?

Other than this website that I write blogs on, I would like to use multiple other tools to provide visuals to effectively showcase my project. I envision utilizing a Prezi or PowerPoint to provide a more in depth look into the differing job opportunities and what I would do within them. I am tossing around the idea of making a board of pictures that provide a visual of the inside of a pharmacy and the differing tasks that are necessary to do. The last tool that I envision that I may use is a brochure or model of some sorts.

What will you do for your "real inquiry"?

I would like to conduct more interviews with more people and more advanced questions. This would increase my knowledge of how each pharmacist and pharmacy technician views everything related to pharmaceuticals. My questions will be more advanced and offer more of an insight into the field this field, which would help further my research.
